Electra opens its first charging station in Aubervilliers

After the announcements, the concrete: the operator Electra has just formalized the opening of its first charging station at the gates of Paris.

According to Avere France, the national park of charging stations has increased by 64% in one year: as of December 31, 2021, France had 53,667 public charging points. The trend should continue to increase in 2022 with the appearance of new operators, such as Allego or even Electra, which is inaugurating its first station.

The young French start-up, with whom we have already been able to talk, has just commissioned its first site in Aubervilliers, at Lab Village Mobilité (102 rue du Port) to be exact. This first stone is made up of two fast terminals with CCS and Type 2 ports. An installation that is altogether classic, but which stands out with powerful charging points in urban areas, when most are available on the highway.

Terminals reserved remotely with the Electra application

But it is above all with a specific customer journey that Electra plans to make a name for itself. The company has developed a dedicated application connected to terminals that allows drivers to find the fastest way to a station, to reserve a space and a socket in advance, and to pay via the application. The unit cost is €0.44/kWh including tax.

The ambitious French company aims to open two stations per month and to reach a rate of one station per week by the end of 2022. For 2030, Electra is counting on a network of 1,000 terminals.
