Dacia Spring: the cheapest electric car in Europe is a hit! – Autoplus

The Dacia Spring is off to a great commercial start with more than 46,000 orders recorded at the end of 2021.

Last year was marked by the launch of an atypical electric car, the Dacia Spring, which contrasts overall with the market trend. Indeed, few electric cars are financially accessible today, but Dacia has obviously rushed into the breach to offer a first 100% electric model and more accessible compared to the rest of the market.

A hot start

In 2021, Dacia sold it 537,095 cars in the world, either an increase of 3% compared to the year 2020, a complicated year marked in particular by confinements and the start of the health crisis. The year 2021 has not been extraordinary either, but for other reasons, and in particular the shortage of electronic components which forces manufacturers to review their production rate. And Dacia is not spared either.

However, this has not dampened the enthusiasm around the Dacia Spring which, since March 2021 and the start of its marketing, has recorded 27,876 registrations, or 5.2% of the Romanian firm’s sales. Very encouraging results for barely nine months of marketing and in a complicated industrial context. Better still, at the end of 2021, Dacia recorded 46,000 orders. This therefore means that more than 28,000 units still to be delivered.

“With a commercial start in March, the introduction of the Dacia Spring in the electric vehicle market has been a resounding success, with 27,876 units sold and more than 46,000 orders registered by the end of 2021. Designed to make cars electric too accessible as possible for everyday use, the Dacia Spring has since become a benchmark vehicle in many markets, with 80% of Dacia customers. »

Europe’s cheapest electric car is therefore off to a good start, which is available both for private customers and for car-sharing fleets.

The Dacia Spring in a few figures

As a reminder, with its 27.4 kWh lithium-ion battery, the Dacia Spring claims 230 kilometers autonomy in the WLTP mixed cycle. This range may seem fair for general-purpose use, but this model will, in most cases, be sold as a second car. In purely urban use, autonomy climbs to more than 300 kilometers. The Spring is equipped with an electric motor of 44 horsepower and 125 Nm. The performances are in line with the presentations of the car, the 0 to 100 km/h is announced in 19.1 seconds and the maximum speed is 125 km/h.

The car is exchanged, in France, from 12 403 euros, once the bonus of 4,587 euros has been deducted, and not 6,000 euros, because the maximum bonus is also limited to 27% of the purchase price of the car.
